When a furnace has reached the end, replacement is sized to the house and the ductwork rather than to whatever came out. We go through the options and what each one actually changes, and the decision stays yours.

Questions about this
What does a high-efficiency furnace change about the installation?
It vents through plastic pipe rather than the chimney and produces condensate that has to drain, so the venting route and a condensate line are part of the job.
Does a new furnace need new ductwork?
Not always, but the ducts have to move the airflow the new furnace needs. Undersized returns or leaking trunks are corrected while the equipment is being changed.
